Svante Hellberg is an independent researcher in the history of knowledge and archaeology, based in Gothenburg. He is completing a master's degree in Classical Archaeology and Ancient History at the University of Gothenburg. His thesis, Limina rerum, is supervised by Professor Ida Östenberg and examines the symbolic, religious, and social dimensions of Roman bridges. He has taken part in archaeological fieldwork at Kalaureia in Greece through the Swedish Institute at Athens, at Varnhem in Västergötland through the University of Gothenburg, and at Gamla Skogsby through Linnaeus University.

His research focuses on classical studies, the history of archaeology, popular education, and cultural heritage. He has published in Medusa, Populär Arkeologi, and Romhorisont, and was editor-in-chief of Gasten from 2019 to 2022.
